Screaming In An Empty Room

Does it feel as if you are screaming in an empty room when the news does not cover important reports or twist facts into spin? So do I. I'm not anti-military but I am against all that is being done to the men and women who joined the military to defend this nation. For PTSD post, go to http://woundedtimes.blogspot.com.

Countdown's Keith Olbermann beats O'Reilly ratings

Fox hires controversial talker to fill evening time slot

Tuesday, 10 June 2008
Struggling to hold on to viewers in an early-evening time slot, Fox News has decided to give a controversial right-wing radio host a trial run hosting a new show.

The New York Times reports that conservative talker Laura Ingraham will join a rotating series of personalities on a new 5 p.m. program. Network executives “appear to be grooming her as a new talent for the network,” according to the report.

Ingraham, who frequently fills in for the brash Bill O’Reilly on Fox, has made a name for herself with a popular talk radio show that is among the top-rated in the country. Fox will need the rating help, as its previous 5 p.m. report — America’s Election HQ — placed third last week in the advertiser-coveted 25- to 54-year-old demographic, the Times reports.

It’s not just at 5 p.m. where Fox is struggling, either. The network’s most recognizable loud-mouth slipped from his No. 1 spot last week among the viewers advertisers want most.

MSNBC is gloating that their star Keith Olbermann bested O’Reilly among 25- to 54-year-olds last week. It’s the first time Olbermann has beaten his primary competitor among the key demographic. According to an MSNBC release:

MSNBC NOTCHES DEMO WIN OVER FNC IN PRIMETIME
“Countdown” Out-Rates the “Factor” for First Time Ever

NEW YORK - June 10, 2008 - MSNBC continued its ratings surge last week, with viewers flocking out of the “No Spin Zone” and to “The Place for Politics.” For the first time ever, MSNBC’s “Countdown with Keith Olbermann” was the #1 show at 8 p.m., out-drawing Fox News’s “O’Reilly Factor” head-to-head among Adults 25-54. This is the first time since June 2001 that MSNBC has out-rated “The O’Reilly Factor” at 8 p.m.

Excluding Tuesday’s primary coverage, “Countdown with Keith Olbermann” averaged 477,000 A25-54 vs. 472,000 for the “Factor.”

Can it be that the rest of America is waking up to the fact that a lot of important things in their lives have not mattered to the people over at FOX? Is it possible that being lied to has finally sunken in when they trusted the pundits over at FOX like O'Reilly? There is hope for this country after all.

It didn't seem to matter to them that O'Reilly lied to them when he used all the talking points memos about why we sent the troops into Iraq, or the fact that every other news report coming out of the rest of the media has been reporting on all kinds of things O'Reilly has denied, leaving them to look like fools when they were talking to non-Fox viewers. It didn't matter that O'Reilly denied the troops were being redeployed already diagnosed with PTSD and sent back into combat with medications to take instead of therapy they needed. It didn't matter that he denied there were homeless veterans even though there were reports about them throughout the Clinton Administration and the George H.W. Bush Administration and the Reagan Administration. Not much mattered to them but now, after all this time, the Iraq study part two and Scott McClellan's book may just have finally finished off FOX and I say Praise the Lord! Truth may actually return to this nation finally. Do you think accountability may return along with it?

Olbermann is a ledgin in his own mind. The only time he comes close to beating O'Reilly is when O'Reilly is on vacation. Olbermann continues to bad mouth O'Reilly every programI ever watched he is not one to watch for information and balanced news like O'Reilly is.
NBC needs to cancel this joker.

    Anonymous,
Since you posted under anonymous, you must be ashamed to admit you think O'Reilly is fair or balanced. Considering uninformed people watch him, the reason you cannot spell supports that. Legend is not "ledgin" but as for the bad mouthing, every time he blasts O'Reilly, he's done it because O'Reilly has been caught lying to his viewers. It would do you some good to read once in a while instead of watching TV. You may learn who has been lying to you.
